Brownsberg Nature Reserve, named after the eponymous 560m peak at its heart, was
founded in 1969 and is made up of 112 sq km of pristine jungle populated by dozens of rare
species of animal, many of which are unique to Suriname.

This nature reserve is not far away from the city. This reserve also offers real jungle experience.
And is the ideal place for nature adventure.

Day 1:
Paramaribo – Brownsberg Nature reserve

▪ Drive from Paramaribo to Brownsberg: appx. 3 hours.

Day 2:
Brownsberg (Leo and Irene falls) – Ston Island

▪ Hike to Leo and Irene falls with the opportunity of tropical adventure, superb
birdwatching and wildlife-viewing opportunities.
▪ Lunch package on the way
▪ After the hike departure to Ston Island next to Brokopondo lake.
Ston Island is a peninsula that arose in this form when the Brokopondo Reservoir was
created. The peninsula that lies at the foot of Brownsberg.

Day 3:
Ston Island - Paramaribo ▪
Breakfast at Ston Island resort
▪ Boat ride on the Brokopondo lake.
