La Réserve Naturelle des Marais de Kaw is one of the six nature reserves created by the French State in Guiana.
This reserve is the third nature reserve in France by its surface area (94,700 hectares), after that of the French Southern Territories (2,270,000 hectares) and that of Nouragues (100,000 hectares), and the largest wetland in France.
It was created by decree on March 13, 1998, straddling the communes of Roura and Régina and includes the small village of Kaw.

Marais de Kaw is a beautiful wet land and home to many coastal birds. It is a true paradise for bird watchers and reptiles’ lovers, upon arrival at Marais de Kaw the nature of wetlands, mukumuku plants and mangroves.
